Riyas is a yoga practitioner and the founder of Babu’s Yoga House, Norway. He has been teaching across the globe since 2009 and is a career journalist. He authored ‘In the Country of Longing’, a novel based on the genocide in Darfur. Riyas is the founding director of The Varkala Yoga Festival.

Naz has been practicing various martial arts for 10 years but, only recently embarked on a yogic journey since his arrival in India at the start of 2018. Naz has been involved in the development and planning since its inception, overseeing all aspects of the festival.
Project Coordinator India
Anubhav first started practicing yoga in the foothills of the Himalayas in 2013. Since then he has been continuing his studies with yoga teacher training and regular Hatha and Ashtanga practice. Anubhav has been involved in the development of the festival since its inception.
Design Team, Australia
David Gillett aka Harlequin Chameleon is a music producer, visual artist and graphic designer from Western Australia. He has over ten years experience in the events industry covering areas as diverse as promotional graphics, staging, lighting/decor, site management, recycling and performance. He met the organizers of VIYF whilst on a yoga pilgrimage to India and decided to bring his holistic understanding of event mechanics to the festival. He will be working on the graphic and visual promotion side of the event as well as providing additional support where it is required.
Digital Marketing Head, India
Having worked as the Digital Marketing Head & Trainer for a private company in India, Arun has worked aside many brands to leverage their presence and for brand promotion. He has trained hundreds of students in the field of Digital Marketing and consults for various companies. He will be heading the digital marketing operations for the Indian market.
Project Coordinator, Canada
Jessica discovered the playful world of yoga approximately 6 years ago while searching for a greater purpose. She has been practicing regularly ever since various types of yoga and recently completed a yoga teacher training during a 6-month stay in South India. Though from Montreal Canada, she is currently studying at Byron Bay Purna Yoga Center in Australia, teaching yoga by the beach and setting up a yogic online business to spread the love!
